The Seattle University softball team will travel to Pocatello, Idaho this weekend for a four-game series at Idaho State from Saturday, Apr. 30 to Sunday, May 1.

On Deck: The Redhawks will conclude the 2011 season at Northern Colorado in a final weekend series from May 7-8.

Last Time Out: The Redhawks (9-29 overall, 5-7 PCSC) were swept by Portland State on Apr. 22-23, in their final home series of the 2011 campaign.

The PCSC Mountain Division: Seattle U currently is in third place in the PCSC Mountain Division.

Closing Out the Year on the Road: After hosting three consecutive PCSC conference series at home in Seattle, the Redhawks conclude the year on the road. SU will make stops at Idaho State and close things out at Northern Colorado.

  • Senior first baseman Katie Gould leads the league in fielding percentage (1.000)
  • Sophomore shortstop Allegra Wilde is No. 3 in doubles (11)
  • Freshman outfielder Sarah Petosa is T-No. 4 in stolen bases (9)
  • Sophomore pitcher Jessica Ulrich is No. 10 in innings pitched (107.0)

Scouting Idaho State: The Bengals of Idaho State (10-29 overall, 3-9 PCSC) are coming off a 3-1 weekend versus Weber State in PCSC play. They also took on BYU on Apr. 26, in a single mid-week matchup. Idaho State dropped a 2-0 decision to the Cougars.

The squad is led by Terah Blackwell, who's hitting .314 (32-for-102) in 39 consecutive starts. She's tallied 19 RBIs, 13 runs, 10 doubles and four home runs. Blackwell has been successful at the plate in conference play, as she is hitting .500.

Defensively, Kandis Clesson leads the three-player pitching rotation with a 4.54 ERA and a 9-16 record. She's pitched 140.1 innings, carrying the majority of ISU's pitching load. Clesson's allowed 187 hits and thrown 89 strikeouts. Batters are hitting .312 against her.
