On Deck: The Redhawks will conclude the 2011 season on the road with a pair of four-game series beginning with Idaho State from Apr. 30 to May 1. SU will conclude the year at Northern Colorado from May 7-8.
Last Time Out: The Redhawks (9-25 overall, 5-3 PCSC) went 2-2 with Utah Valley in their weekend series from Apr. 16-17. Richelle Ashburn and Jessica Ulrich each earned wins in the circle, while Hannah Klein led the offense, going 6-for-13, with five RBIs, three runs, a pair of doubles and a walk.
In the PCSC: Seattle U currently is in a three-way tie for second place in the PCSC Mountain Division. This weekend's opponent Portland State and Utah Valley are both in second with the Redhawks.
Thanks for the Memories!: Prior to Saturday's doubleheader the Seattle U softball team will recognize the careers of the graduating senior class. The day will mark the final home action for catcher Jessica Amador, first baseman/outfielder Katie Gould and catcher Kate Zender.
Wilde's Way: Allegra Wilde currently sports a team-leading 10 stolen bases for third-best in the PCSC. She is also the team's second top performer, with .306 batting average.
Ashburn Continues to Develop Collegiate Game: Freshman pitcher Richelle Ashburn has steadily improved in the circle as the season has progressed. She leads the team with five wins and has pitched 90.2 innings. The rookie has thrown a team-leading 52 strikeouts and eight complete games.
Scouting Portland State: The Vikings of Portland State (17-15 overall, 5-3 PCSC) are coming off a sweep over Idaho State in Pocatello, Idaho. Leading PSU entering this weekend's action is Lacey Holm. She's hitting .378 (34-for-90), behind 24 RBIs, 10 runs, three doubles, three home runs and a triple. Carly McEachran is the squad's home run leader, with four.
Defensively, Nichole Latham leads the Viking three-player pitching rotation. She posts a 1.96 ERA and 10-7 record. In 107.1 innings pitched, she's allowed 102 hits and 76 total runs. Latham has also thrown 61 strikeouts and batters are hitting .256 off her.
