The Seattle University women's golf team maintained its position through the final round of the West Coast Conference Championships Tuesday, finishing in fifth place at the San Juan Oaks Golf Club.

Caitlin McCleary (The Dalles, Ore.) earned four birdies on the way to her best score of the tournament, shooting 76 (+4) to finish in a tie for 15th place with a final score of 236 (+20). Christine Cook (Yakima, Wash.) shot 81 (+9) in the third round to end the tournament in a tie for 20th place with a three-round total of 242 (+26).

Lori Pearson (Seattle, Wash.) also shot the best round of her tournament, finishing the day in a tie for 24th place after a third-round 82 (+10) gave her a cumulative score of 251 (+35). Nicole Gaddie (Salt Lake City, Utah) slipped to 27th place after shooting 92 (+20) for a 54-hole total of 260 (+44), and Shannon Quinn (Shoreline, Wash.) finished in 28th place with a final score of 261 (+45) after a third-round score of 89 (+17).

Seattle University posted a cumulative score of 328 (+40) in the third round for a 54-hole score of 986 (+122), 19 strokes ahead of sixth-place Portland. Pepperdine cruised to the conference team title by 36 strokes over second-place Gonzaga, with the Waves' Grace Na earning medalist honors and leading a 1-2-3 finish by Pepperdine golfers.

This tournament concludes the 2010-11 competitive season for the Seattle University women's golf team, its first as an affiliate member of the West Coast Conference. All members of the current roster are eligible to return next year.
