Continuing its commitment to serving the community, the Seattle University baseball program raised money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation during the April 16 game against Central Washington at Bannerwood Park.
Named "Morgan's Day" in honor of Morgan Powell, daughter of assistant coach Casey Powell, the baseball team raised over $700 through the sale of special T-shirts as well as independent donations. All proceeds went to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, an organization looking to find a cure for juvenile diabetes.
"We feel blessed as an organization to be able to help out with this great cause," head coach Donny Harrel said. "With Morgan being a part of the SU family, it becomes even more special. The Seattle University baseball program would like to thank everyone that helped out and got involved with this great day."
The Seattle University baseball program has helped out numerous charitable organizations over the past three years, including the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, the Rotary Boys and Girls Club, and Chaffey's Inner City Baseball Program.
