The Seattle University baseball team struggled in all phases of the game Tuesday night as the University of Washington picked up an 11-0 victory at Bannerwood Park.

Washington (10-20) struck first in the top of the second when Troy Scott led off with a single to center field. Eric Peterson's single to right field skidded past Doug Kincaid (Portland, Ore.), allowing Scott to come around and score the Huskies' first run of the game. Peterson would score on a groundout by Chase Anselment to increase Washington's lead to 2-0.

In the top of the fifth inning, Brian Wolfe drew a one-out walk, and Joe Meggs followed with a single to center field. After a ground out, Scott drove in Wolfe on an infield single, and a wild throw from Trent Oleszczuk (Beaverton, Ore.) allowed Meggs to come around and score the Huskies' fourth run of the game.

Seattle U threatened to score in the bottom of the fifth, as Nate Roberts (Silverdale, Wash.) singled, followed by back-to-back walks drawn by pinch hitters Matt Comer (Bozeman, Mont.) and Sean Narby (Auburn, Wash.) to load the bases with one out. However, Oleszczuk hit into a 5-4-3 double play to end the Redhawk threat.

The Huskies extended the lead in the top of the sixth without the benefit of a hit. Caleb Brown led off with a walk and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt. After Ryan Wiggins reached on a an error by Nick Latta (Tacoma, Wash.) to put runners at first and third, Ty Afenir laid down a successful squeeze bunt to score Brown, with a throwing error by Conor Spink (Eagle River, Alaska) putting runners on second and third. Pinch hitter Will Sparks drove in Wiggins on a groundout to extend Washington's lead to 6-0.

Washington scored five more runs in the top of the ninth inning as Seattle U made two more errors to finish with a season-high six errors for the game. Meanwhile, the Husky pitching trio of Jeff Brigham, Geoff Brown, and Tyler Kane held the Redhawks to three hits and three walks.

Due to the cancellation of Thursday's game against Saint Martin's, Seattle University (12-15) will next host Central Washington in a two-game series at Bannerwood Park starting Friday, April 15, at 6 p.m. and continuing Saturday, April 16, at 1 p.m. Live stats and live audio for both games will be available on GoSeattleU.com.
