In a complete reversal from the offensive showdowns of the first two games of the series, Seattle University and the University of Nevada engaged in a pitcher's duel Sunday, with the Wolf Pack taking advantage of one bad pitch to earn a 2-0 victory at Peccole Park.

With one out in the bottom of the eighth inning, Seattle U starter Seafth Howe (Seattle, Wash.) hit Waylen Sing Chow with a pitch. Nevada catcher Carlos Escobar did not miss one of Howe's few mistake pitches of the game, sending it over the left-center field fence for his fourth home run of the season.

Seattle U could not sustain any offense off Nevada pitchers Brock Stassi and Jeremy Cole, as the Redhawks were limited to three hits and four walks while striking out 11 times in the game. Seattle U's best scoring chance came in the fourth inning with runners on first and third, but a strikeout ended the opportunity.

Howe kept Nevada (10-17) at bay for the vast majority of his start, allowing only two hits and a walk in 7 1/3 innings of work. Of his season-high 101 pitches, 69 were thrown for strikes.

Seattle University (12-14) heads back to Seattle and is scheduled to begin a four-game homestand Tuesday, April 12, against Washington starting at 6 p.m. The Redhawks are then set to host Saint Martin's Thursday, April 14, at 6 p.m., followed by two home games against Central Washington Friday, April 15, at 6 p.m. and Saturday, April 16, at 1 p.m.
