Seattle University softball player Theresa Clark (Lakewood, Colo.) has been selected Featured Student-Athlete of the Week following a standout weekend at the UNLV Pre-Conference Round-Up. This is the first time the Redhawk utility player has earned the honor.

This season, Clark has seen action in 22 games, starting 16. She’s tallied seven hits, eight RBIs, three runs, three doubles and a grand slam.

“Theresa had a great weekend in Las Vegas and played very well in the outfield, after starting the year off in the infield,” said head coach Dan Powers. “She has worked hard this year and is starting to see the results of her work.”

At the UNLV-hosted tournament from Apr. 1-2, she had a career-best performance against the Rebels. Clark went 2-for-3, with seven RBIs, two runs, a double and her first career grand slam in the Redhawks final game of the tournament.

In addition to progressing and developing into a collegiate softball player, Clark successfully balances the demands of being a student-athlete. She currently boasts a 3.44 cumulative grade point average as a psychology major.

Clark and the Redhawks will open up PCSC conference action this weekend with Weber State. SU will host the Wildcats in a four-game series from Apr. 9 to 10, with first pitch set for 12 noon on both days.
