In an attempt to fill the schedule after losing games earlier in the season to weather, the Seattle University baseball team will face Washington State April 6 and Pacific Lutheran April 27, with both games scheduled to take place at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue.
Seattle U will face Washington State for the only time in 2011 after meeting the Cougars three times last season, twice during the opening weekend of the 2010 campaign in Pullman and once in Wenatchee. After Washington State won the first two games by a combined score of 34-6, the Redhawks nearly upset the Cougars last April 13 before Washington State pulled out an 8-5 victory. The start time for the April 6 game against the Cougars, one day after Seattle U hosts Washington, is set for 3 p.m.
This is the third different date that Seattle U has been scheduled to host Pacific Lutheran. The two teams were originally scheduled to play March 1, but weather forced the postponement of that contest until March 12. However, rain once again interrupted the plans, and now the Redhawks and the Lutes are scheduled to face each other Wednesday, April 27, beginning at 7 p.m.
Seattle University (9-9) is set to host Sacramento State (6-19) in a four-game series this weekend, beginning with a single game Friday, April 1, at 6 p.m. at Bannerwood Park.
