The Seattle University golf teams conducted the Inaugural 100-Hole Marathon fundraising event on Monday, Feb. 28 to raise funds to benefit the golf program.
“I am extremely proud of every player’s effort in this fundraiser, especially their attitude playing through some of the worst golf conditions I have been associated with,” said head coach Don Rasmussen.
There were 1,928 holes played by 18 of the athletes, some of which played in the morning, went to class, and then returned to finish out the marathon. Eight women and 11 men participated, and Sam Bell (Park City, Utah) led the team with 22 birdies, followed by Shannon Quinn (Shoreline, Wash.) with 21 birdies.
“We are excited about the next phase of our program, which is the upcoming spring season,” said Rasmussen.
The women’s next tournament will be the Fresno State Lexus Golf Classic in Fresno, Calif. on March 7-8. The men will compete in the Folino Invitational in Irvine, Calif. on March 20-22.
