Up Next For the Redhawks: The Seattle University softball team will return to Southern California this weekend for a four-game series at the University of San Diego (1-2). Seattle U will play in a pair of doubleheaders at USD on Saturday, Feb. 26 and Sunday, Feb. 27. First pitch is slated for 12 noon on Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Last Time Out: The Redhawks (0-10) were unable to come away with a victory at the ASU Littlewood Classic from Feb. 18-20. Seattle U saw their best opportunity to earn their first victory of the season versus Iowa. After coming from behind to take the lead, SU let Iowa slip past them for an 8-7 win.
Seattle U also faced No. 9/12 Arizona State twice, PCSC rival Idaho State and Illinois State at the five-game tournament.
On Deck: Seattle U will remain on the road, traveling to Boise, Idaho for the four-game tournament from Mar.5-6. The Redhawks will play a pair of games versus both Boise State and Southern Utah.
Scouting San Diego: The University of San Diego enters this weekend’s series behind only three games played. The Toreros had eight contests scheduled thus far, but due to inclement weather they were forced to cancel five of them. They took on UC San Diego on Feb. 23, dropping a 3-0 decision to the Tritons.
This season, the Toreros (1-2) are led by Kristen Gensler and Jessica Tieszen. Both are hitting .571, behind four hits. Gensler has the team’s top slugging percentage of .857.
On the mound, San Diego has seen action from Cassidy Coleman and Kaitlin Healy. Healy earned the team’s only win in her complete game appearance on Feb. 20, versus Howard. The Toreros earned a 5-3 victory and Healy threw four strikeouts, while allowing four hits in seven innings of work.
