On the third day of action at the ASU Littlewood Classic, Seattle University dropped a 13-2 five-inning decision to No. 9/12 Arizona State to finish the weekend of competition.

Both of Seattle U’s runs came in the top of the fifth, but they were not enough runs to keep the game going. Jessica Ulrich (Lewiston, Idaho) singled to first, and after getting on base on a walk, Karina Smyth (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) and Ulrich both scored on an Arizona State throwing error.

At the Sun Devils’ first at-bat, Katelyn Boyd hit a home run to get Arizona State going and ASU scored seven more runs in the bottom of the second before the Redhawks got on base for the first time in the top of the third. The Redhawks were unable to advance, however, and finished the third with no runs.

ASU went on to score four more runs in the bottom of the third and their final run came in the bottom of the fourth with Lacy Goodman’s home run.

The Redhawks (0-10) will next see action on Feb. 26 at San Diego.
