The Seattle University baseball program will be hosting the second annual Flex-Off, an event that raises money for the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, Friday, Feb. 4, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Connolly Center North Court.

The Flex-Off is a friendly competition in which the Seattle University baseball players compete against each other to see who has the best physical makeup as interpreted by a panel of judges as well as crowd reaction. This event is part of the buildup for the start of the competitive season, which this year will be a four-game series at Cal State Northridge Feb. 18-20.

All proceeds from the event go to the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, an organization that helps place athletic teams with young people who are dealing specifically with brain tumors. Through this program, the Seattle University baseball team has adopted Adrian Smith, a four-year-old who has been diagnosed with an inoperable right thalamic tumor.

Tickets for this event are $2 and can be purchased through one of the Seattle U baseball players, by calling 206-398-4399, or at the door the night of the Flex-Off. There will be opportunities to make a further donation to the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation throughout the evening of the event.

After opening the season at Cal State Northridge, the Seattle University baseball team will face Notre Dame in its home-opening series, beginning with a contest at Everett Memorial Stadium Friday, Feb. 25, at 6 p.m., and continuing with games at the Redhawks' normal home field, Bannerwood Park in Bellevue, Saturday, Feb. 26, at 2 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 27, at 12 noon.
