The Seattle University baseball program continues to serve its community by maintaining a tradition it has participated in since the reestablishment of the program in 2008.

This winter was the third straight year Seattle University baseball put on their charity camp for Chaffey's Inner City Baseball Program. All kids 14 and under were invited to Seattle U's Connolly Center where coaches and players participated in a half day baseball camp for kids. The baseball program's sponsors chipped in and each camper was able to leave with a little bit of Christmas cheer in their hearts.

"I have been able to work with Chaffey's Inner City Baseball Program for the last 4 years (3 at Seattle U and 1 at UW) and it is a great opportunity for us to give back to the community. Baden Sports, Wilson/Demarini, and Brand Athletics all chip in to give gifts to these wonderful young children,” said head coach Donny Harrel. “We as an organization are thankful to our sponsors and all for having the opportunity to make a difference."

The 2011 Redhawk baseball season will kick off with a four-game series at Cal State Northridge beginning Friday, Feb. 18th.
