Last Time Out: The Redhawks (3-7) earned their third victory of the season, behind a sound 62-43 win over a talented Idaho squad on Dec. 11. Seattle U saw 18 points from Elle Kerfoot and a career-best game from Daidra Brown, who tallied eight steals for a career-high and 14 points.
Two days later, SU was unable to put together back-to-back victories. They dropped a 69-55 decision to UC Irvine. Despite cutting down a 21-point deficit to 10 and strong production from their bench, Seattle U was unable to put together consecutive wins at home.
On Deck: Seattle U will remain in the Golden State taking on Santa Clara on Sunday, Dec. 19, at 2 p.m. and close out the three-game swing at Saint Mary's on Tuesday, Dec. 21, in a 6 p.m. game.

The Steal Counter: Sophomore transfer Daidra Brown currently is on pace to break the single-season steal record for the Seattle U. She currently is averaging 3.6 steals per game, behind 36 total steals in 10 games played. The current record is held by Jackie Thomas' 2007-08 3.1 steals per game.
A Dominate Home Win: The Redhawks put together an all-around solid victory at home on Dec. 11, versus Idaho. They defeated the Vandals 62-43, for their first decisive win of the season and third of the year.
Jesuit Basketball Honor Roll: Daidra Brown was recognized by the Jesuit Women's Basketball Spotlight this week for her solid work versus Idaho on Dec. 11. The sophomore transfer was named to the JBS Honor Roll. In the game she scored 14 points, had five rebounds and four assists, and established a new career-high eight steals.
Freshmen Finding Their Groove: The Redhawk diaper dandies are adjusting to life as a DI college basketball player. In Seattle U's game versus UC Irvine on Dec. 13, Sylvia Shephard had a career-best outing, scoring 11 points and was an all-around defensive threat in SU's attempted come-from-behind run. Classmate Ashley Ward also had a career-high game, scoring 11 points as well and grabbing down seven boards. Rounding out the trio of newbies, Kacie Sowell had seven boards.
Dickerson Trends: Senior transfer Salena Dickerson continues to be an impact player in the Redhawk lineup. She has started in all 10 games played this season and is the team's second-leading scorer with 10.6 ppg. She is also the team's second-leading rebounder, behind 6.1 rpg. Dickerson has scored in double figures in six games this season.
Kerfoot Named to All-Tournament Team: Co-captain and point guard Elle Kerfoot was the selected to the Seattle U Thanksgiving All-Tournament Team on Nov. 27, following her 30 point performance and helping guide SU to the championship game.
Seattle U Inks Three for 2011-12: Monique Abbs (Phoenix, Ariz.), Renee Dillard-Brown (Seattle, Wash.) and Kim Flournoy (San Diego, Calif.) will join the Seattle U women's team next season. This is the second recruiting class head coach Joan Bonvicini has signed since joining SU for the 2009-10 season.
Scouting Sacramento State: Sacramento State (3-8) returns home to face the Redhawks after a three-game road trip, where they finished 1-2. The Hornets beat Santa Clara 78-65 on Dec. 5, but then dropped their next two games that weekend to Cal State Fullerton, 100-74, and Boise State, 73-68.
CSUS is lead by forward Kylie Kuhns, the lone Hornet to average double digits in scoring. The sophomore is averaging a double-double with 17.4 points and 13 rebounds per game. Kuhns had a stand out game against San Francisco on Dec. 1, where she tallied 23 rebounds and 23 points. Also contributing to Sac State's offense is senior guard Tika Koshiyama-Diaz, who is averaging 9.3 points and 5.9 assists per game. As a team, Sac State is scoring 78.3 points a game, but allowing opponents to score 90.9 points.
Last Time Seattle U Faced Sacramento State: The Redhawks are 0-1 all-time versus Sacramento State. They fell in their first meeting 80-68 last year in Seattle on Nov. 25, 2009.
LOOKING AHEAD....
Scouting Santa Clara: Santa Clara has yet to win a game this season, as they are 0-8 heading into this week's action. They face the Redhawks following their game versus Pacific on Thursday, Dec. 16, after recent loses against Sacramento State, 78-65, and Southern Utah, 80-67.
The Broncos are lead by forward Lena Gipson, who is averaging a double-double with 11.9 points and 11 rebounds per contest.
Scouting Saint Mary's: The Gaels of Saint Mary's currently are 5-6 after dropping their last two contests. They fell to then-No. 10 UCLA, 75-59, on Dec. 12, and dropped a 72-60 decision to ULAR on Dec. 14.
The Gaels are lead by junior guard Jasmine Smith , who is averaging 17 points and 3.7 rebounds per contest. All-WCC Louella Tomlinson leads the team's rebounding efforts with 8.4 boards per game.
