After posting career-high point totals in back-to-back games and helping the Seattle University men's basketball team earn a 75-70 victory over Navy Sunday afternoon, junior forward Aaron Broussard (Federal Way, Wash.) was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Irvine subregional of the 2K Sports Classic Benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer.

Broussard started the weekend by collecting 11 points, eight rebounds, and four steals against Louisiana Tech Friday. Saturday night against UC Irvine, Broussard shot 10-of-16 from the field, including 2-of-3 from behind the three-point line, and 3-of-4 from the free throw line for a then-career-high 25 points. He also pulled down nine rebounds and earned two steals.

Less than 24 hours later, Broussard got off to a slow start Sunday afternoon against Navy, but picked things up after halftime by scoring 22 of his career-high 26 points, including nine straight points midway through the second half as Seattle University turned a four-point deficit into a five-point lead. For the game, he shot 8-of-14 from the field and 10-of-14 from the free throw line.

Broussard finished second in scoring, third in rebounding, and tied for second in steals among the subregional participants, averaging 20.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game over the three days. Among those players with at least 10 field goal attempts, he had the highest field goal percentage at .622 (23-of-37), and he led all players with 13 made free throws over the weekend.

For the season, Broussard is second on the team in scoring and first in rebounding, averaging 13.9 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. He is shooting 53.1 percent from the field and 78.1 percent from the free throw line. He is joined on the All-Tournament Team by DeAndre Brown (MVP) and Olu Ashaolu of Louisiana Tech and Darren Moore and Patrick Rembert of UC Irvine.

Seattle University, currently 2-5 in the 2010-11 season, will next play Saturday, Nov. 27, against the UC Davis Aggies in Sacramento, Calif., beginning at 1 p.m. in a game that will be broadcast on 710 ESPN Seattle. The next home game for the Redhawks is Monday, Nov. 29, against the Montana State Bobcats starting at 7:10 p.m. at KeyArena at Seattle Center.
