This Week for the Redhawks: The Seattle University women's basketball team looks to rebound on the road following a tough opening weekend of action. The Redhawks will take on UC Riverside (1-1) on Friday, Nov. 19, in a 2 p.m. contest in Riverside, Calif. Seattle U will remain in Southern California to square off with the University of San Diego (1-0) on Sunday, Nov. 21, at 2 p.m. to close out the road swing.

Last Time Out: The Redhawks went 0-2 in their home opening weekend. They struggled to find their rhythm on the floor falling in their season debut 74-57 on Nov. 12, to Cal Poly. A much improved team battled on Nov. 14, but fell short to Cal State Fullerton 63-58. All the SU newcomers saw action over the weekend.

On Deck: Following their road swing in the Golden State, Seattle U will return home to host the Seattle University Thanksgiving Tournament. Bowling Green, UALR and Montana State will be participating in the two day tournament. SU will take on Montana State on Friday, Nov. 26 at 8 p.m. Their game on Saturday, Nov. 27, is dependent on the result from their opening game.

Dickerson Has Solid Debut: Senior transfer Salena Dickerson made her Redhawk debut a memorable one. She scored a game-leading 21 points and tallied 11 boards, for her first double-double of the season versus Cal Poly on Nov. 12. She leads the Seattle U offense with 12.5 ppg.

Three Averaging in Double Figures: Following their first weekend of action, three Redhawks are averaging in double figures.  Salena Dickerson leads with 12.5 ppg. Fellow newcomer sophomore Amani Butler is the second top scorer (11.0 ppg) and senior Tatiana Heck (10.5 ppg) rounds out the trio.

Sowell's a Double Threat: In her second collegiate game freshman Kacie Sowell posted her first career double-double (10 points and 13 rebounds). She is averaging 8.5 ppg and a team-leading 10.0 rpg.

Hittin' the Road: Seattle U will head out on the road for a pair of games this weekend to open the road half of the 2010-11 schedule. SU will take on UC Riverside on Friday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. and two days later square off with the University of San Diego in a 2 p.m. game.

Scouting UC Riverside: UC Riverside Highlanders concluded their opening weekend 1-1. They beat Montana, 52-34, Nov. 12, but fell to Arizona State, 47-58, two days later.  The Highlanders kept Montana to 34 points, which was the fewest points ever allowed by UCR since the team's transition to Division I in 2001-02. Brittany Waddell leads UCR with 12.5 ppg, 3.5 rpg and 1 apg. Alyssa Morris follows, averaging 11 ppg, 6 rpg and 1 apg.

Last Time Seattle U Faced UC Riverside: This will be the first time in program history that the Redhawks will take on the Highlanders.

Scouting San Diego: San Diego has only played in one game this season.  The Toreros defeated Pacific 72-61 on Nov. 15.  USD was lead by junior guard Dominique Conners, who had 21 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. The team also saw solid contributions from senior Sam Child (17 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist) and junior Morgan Woodrow (15 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist). Woodrow was also 3-for-3 from behind the arc.

USD will take on UNLV Friday, Nov. 19, prior to hosting SU.

Last Time Seattle U Faced San Diego: This will be the first time in program history that the Redhawks will take on the Toreros.
