On Saturday, Oct. 23, the Seattle University cross country team will take off at the Beaver Classic, hosted by the Corvallis Running Project, in its final preparations for the Great West Championships next week.

“I’m looking forward to the meet this weekend,” said head coach Trisha Steidl. “It’s notoriously been a good meet for our men’s and women’s teams.”

Only the top ten men and the eight women on the Redhawks squad will compete in the Classic. They had to qualify for this meet, and the Classic is used to qualify for the top seven spots to compete in the GWC Championships.

“We are well-prepared for this meet, which should be a big confidence booster for us going into the conference meet. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone capitalize on their fitness as they gun for those top seven spots,” said Steidl.

Results will be posted on GoSeattleU.com on Saturday afternoon.
