This Week for the Redhawks: The Seattle University men's soccer team (3-7-3 overall, 1-3-1 MPSF) will remain on the road this weekend as they square off with a pair of MPSF Mountain Division squads. Seattle U will open with New Mexico (6-4-2 overall, 3-2 MPSF) in a 6 p.m. PT match in Albuquerque, N.M. Two days later the Redhawks will head to Las Vegas, Nev. to take on the Rebels of UNLV (5-7-1 overall, 2-2-1 MPSF).

Last Time Out: The Redhawks were unable to find their offensive rhythm on the road in their first conference away matches. They suffered a 2-0 loss to Sacramento State on Oct. 15. Two days later at San Jose State, a late second half goal sent SU home 0-2 on the weekend.

Agoos' Thoughts: "We are going to play two solid teams this week. New Mexico is a top team in the conference and a regular in the NCAA Tournament and UNLV has had a great season thus far. Both teams will definitely challenge us, but we hoping to get back on track this weekend," said head coach Brad Agoos.

Rookie Feener Continues to Grow Between the Pipes: Despite suffering a pair of losses this week, true freshman Jake Feener has continued to develop into a solid NCAA Division I goalkeeper. He currently posts a 1-2-1 overall record and a pair of shutouts. The Rocklin, Calif. native has only allowed three goals this season in four consecutive starts. He has made 26 saves and has a 0.71 goals against average.

MPSF Players of the Week: The Redhawks have had two players named MPSF Conference Player of the Week this season. Both SU goalkeepers received the honor with senior Ivan Dizdar being named POW on Sept. 20, and freshman Jake Feener earned the honor on Oct. 11.

Versus Ranked Opponents: The Redhawks have played a pair of ranked opponents this season. They kicked off the year with then-No. 5 Tulsa on Sept. 4, and most recently took on then-No. 24 Portland on Sept. 26. Versus both ranked teams, SU has played very competitively and their offense has only been outscored 4-2 by the ranked squads.

In the MPSF: The Redhawks fell to No. 4 in the Pacific Division in the MPSF after falling in both road contests this past weekend.

First Mountain Division Foes of the Season: Seattle U will take on their first Mountain Division opponents of the season this weekend in New Mexico and UNLV.

Scouting New Mexico: The New Mexico Lobos are currently riding a two game win streak. UNM (6-4-2 overall, 3-2 MPSF) posted a pair of 1-0 victories on the road over Denver on Oct. 14, and at Air Force on Oct. 17.

This season the Lobos have taken on five ranked teams, seeing victories over then-No. 25 Saint Louis, 3-2, and a 3-1 win over then-No. 20 Georgetown. They took both then-No. 5 UC Santa Barbara and then-No. 6 Harvard to double overtime draws.

Leading the New Mexico offense is Lance Roxeboom. He has scored two goals and made a pair of assists in 12 games played. Michael Reed is the team's assist leader, with four dishes. He has also scored a goal in 12 games played.

Defensively, Justin Holmes has played the majority of minutes between the posts. In nine games, he posts a 4-3-2 record and three shutouts. He's tallied 25 saves and a 1.06 goals against average, while allowing 10 goals. Victor Rodriguez has played in three games and is 2-1, with a shutout. He's allowed two goals, while tallying seven saves and a 0.64 goals against average.

Scouting UNLV: The Rebels of UNLV (5-7-1 overall, 2-2-1 MPSF) are coming off a split weekend on the road, where they fell 2-0 at Air Force on Oct. 15, and two days later the defeated Denver 1-0.

UNLV has played a pair of ranked opponents this season, seeing losses against then-No. 18 California, 3-0, and to then-No. 18 UC Irvine, 4-0.

Stephen Sifuentes leads the team with four goals and three assists for 11 points, in 12 games played. Richard Abrego is the team's assist leader, with three dishes. He has also scored a pair of goals in 11 games played.

Defensively, Simon Cook has started and played in 12 games. He's tallied 38 saves and a 1.23 goals against average, behind a 5-6-1 record. Cook's posted three shutouts, while allowing 14 goals this season. Ryan Harding has seen action in three games, starting one. He's allowed five goals and has a 0-1 record. Harding has tallied 10 saves and a 2.50 goals against average.
