Following a two shutout weekend and helping guide Seattle University to the Oregon State Hensor/Zaher Nike Tournament title, senior Ivan Dizdar (Croatia) was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Week. It is the goalkeeper's first time being honored by the MPSF and he is the first Redhawk to be recognized this season.

"I'm really proud of Ivan for being recognized this week," said head coach Brad Agoos. "He had a great weekend, posting a pair of shutouts, and has made a lot of progress this season. He has also stepped up into a strong leadership role over the last year for us."

Dizdar helped guide the Redhawks to their first victory of the season behind a five save performance over Central Arkansas on Sept. 17. Two days later he earned his second clean sheet over UC Davis. The veteran 'keeper tallied eight saves to bring his weekend total to 13.

This season Dizdar has made 41 saves and posts a goals against average of 1.61. He has started in all six contests for Seattle U, playing all 560:00 minutes between the pipes.

Looking forward, Dizdar and the Redhawks will participate in the Husky Fever Classic this weekend. They will open at Washington with a 7 p.m. contest on Friday, Sept. 24. SU will close out the tournament with the nationally ranked University of Portland Pilots on Sunday, Sept. 26, in a 4 p.m. match at Championship Field on the Seattle U campus.
