In addition to earning the tournament title, three players were represented on the all-tournament team. Brandon Hamer (Carmichael, Calif.) earned his third consecutive all-tournament team honor. This season the Redhawks have played in three tournaments and Hamer's outstanding work on the backline has been recognized each time.
Joining Hamer was junior Sean Morris (Bothell, Wash.) who scored the game-winning goal versus Central Arkansas on Sept. 17. He took Seattle U's first penalty kick of the year and converted it midway through the second half to lift SU to their first victory of the year.
Rounding out the Seattle U trio was David Raney (Lynnwood, Wash.), who has come back from consecutive season ending injuries to become a fixture on the backline. The defender, who started in both contests alongside Hamer, helped guide the Redhawks to a pair of 1-0 shutouts on the weekend.
The Redhawks will look to carry the momentum of their weekend at Oregon State into this weekend's Husky Fever Classic. Seattle U will take on host Washington on Friday, Sept. 24, at UW at 7 p.m. Two days later they will close out the tournament hosting the nationally ranked Pilots of Portland at Championship Field at 4 p.m.
