Only two golfers in the entire field shot a better score than Cook's 73, which gave her a three-round total of 238 (+22) to finish in a tie for 64th place. Caitlin McCleary (The Dalles, Ore.) remained the team's top finisher, posting an 81 in the final round for a cumulative score of 234 (+18) to finish in a tie for 38th place.
Shannon Quinn (Shoreline, Wash.) also shot a third-round 81, finishing in a tie for 77th place with a three-round total of 242 (+26). Lori Pearson (Seattle, Wash.) had the second-lowest score on the Redhawk squad, posting an 80 for a two-day total of 244 (+28), good enough for a tie for 83rd place. Nicole Gaddie (Salt Lake City, Utah) stayed right with her teammates, shooting 82 in the final round for a final score of 255 (+39).
Seattle University posted its best team score of the tournament, shooting 315 (+27) to move ahead of Southern Utah in 17th place with a final score of 954 (+90). Northern Arizona and BYU tied for the top score at 905 (+39), but Northern Arizona was declared the winner thanks to the final-round score of its fifth golfer. Lauren Hernandez of Nevada shot 72 in the final round for a total score of 218 (+2), one shot ahead of Northern Arizona's Kaitlen Parsons and Gonzaga's Victoria Fallgren.
The Seattle University women's golf team will head back to this part of the Northwest next week to take part in the Cougar Cup next Monday through Wednesday, Sept. 20-22. At the end of the year, Seattle U will participate in the West Coast Conference Championship April 18-19 at a course to be determined in northern California.
