This Week for the Redhawks: The Seattle University men's soccer team will participate in their third consecutive tournament this weekend as they travel to Corvallis, Ore. to take part in the Oregon State Hensor/Zaher Nike Classic. SU will open with Central Arkansas (1-3) on Friday, Sept. 17, in a 2 p.m. match. Two days later, the Redhawks will square off with UC Davis (2-2) in a 1:30 p.m. contest versus the Aggies. Both matches will be played on OSU's Lorenz Field.

Last Time Out: The Redhawks hosted their first-ever NCAA Division I tournament this past weekend. The Seattle University Tournament featured Gonzaga, UIC and Michigan. SU opened with the Bulldogs of GU on Sept. 10. After an early Kyle Peterman go-ahead goal, the Redhawks defense broke down allowing Gonzaga to come back and edge them 2-1. Seattle U closed out the tournament with Michigan on Sept. 12. Peterman once again kicked things off with an early go-ahead goal, for his second on the weekend. Marshall Kosaka added to SU's lead with his first goal of the season as the first half came to a close. Despite the early lead, the Wolverines were able to come back and even the score behind a pair of second half goals sending the contest to a double overtime 2-2 draw. The game marked the Redhawks first overtime match and snapped a three game skid.

Agoos' Thoughts: "We are excited to keep improving after this weekend's draw versus Michigan. We are going to play a pair of teams we don't normally see in Central Arkansas and UC Davis at the Oregon State Tournament which will be a great challenge for the guys," said head coach Brad Agoos.

Trio Earn Seattle University All-Tournament Honors: For the second consecutive week Brandon Hamer earned all-tournament recognition for his work on the backline. Joining the Redhawk veteran were Sean Morris, who had an assist, and Kyle Peterman, who had a pair of goals on the weekend.

Peterman Finds Net Twice: Junior Kyle Peterman was a solid offensive threat for the Redhawks this past weekend at the Seattle University Tournament. He had game-opening goals versus Gonzaga (9/10) and Michigan (9/12). His solid performance landed him on the all-tournament team. 

Snappin' the Skid: Despite early offensive heroics, SU was unable to come away with their first victory of the season. They concluded with a 2-2 double overtime draw versus Michigan on Sept. 12. The match snapped a three game losing skid for the Redhawks. 

Veteran Trio to Captain Squad in 2010: Senior Sean Morris, and juniors David Raney and Demaci Roussos will captain the Redhawks in 2010. The trio of veterans are experienced leaders and have helped guide Seattle U through the transition into full NCAA Division I status.

Dizdar Ranked Among 'Keepers: Senior goalkeeper Ivan Dizdar is T-6th place in saves per game among all 'keepers at the NCAA Division I level. He's tallied 28 saves in four straight starts, averaging 7.0 per game.

Postseason Eligible: For the first time since reclassifying back into full NCAA Division I status the Seattle U men's soccer team is eligible for postseason play.

Fresh Faces: The Redhawks welcome eight newcomers, including seven freshmen to the lineup this season. Head coach Brad Agoos will look to the incoming class to compete for starting spots or push the guys ahead of them.

Scouting Central Arkansas: Central Arkansas heads out west following a 2-1 loss to IUPIU at home on Sept. 10. The Bears are 1-3, seeing their lone season victory on Sept. 7, with a 2-1 win over Centenary at home. The squad has only played one road contest this season.

Offensively, the Bears have seen goals from four different players, with the Joseph Cervantes guiding the attack with a goal and 10 shots in four games played. Nick Gigaro, who's started in all four games this season, has served up four dishes.

Ivan Zarate has manned the goal in all four contests. He's tallied 16 saves and a 1.44 goals against average, while allowing six goals.

This is the first meeting between both teams.

Scouting UC Davis: The Aggies of UC Davis (2-2) are currently coming off splitting results this past weekend, seeing a 2-1 victory over Saint Mary's on Sept. 12, after falling 2-1 to Sacramento State two days prior. Both of their wins on the year were seen at home in Davis, Calif.

The UCD offense is led by Lance Patterson, who has scored three of the four total goals scored by the Aggie offense. He also has an assist for seven points in four consecutive starts. Following Patterson is John Joslin, who in four off the bench appearances has tallied a goal and an assist.

In goal, the squad has employed the use of three different goalkeepers thus far. Taking over primary duties is Tommy Siragusa, who posts three appearances and two starts. In 215:12 minutes of action, he's posted four saves and a goals against average of 1.25. He's allowed three goals this season.

The game will mark the first meeting between the Redhawks and the Aggies since SU reclassified back to NCAA DI status.
