Seattle University head women's basketball coach, Joan Bonvicini, along with several other basketball experts, will host a free coaches clinic on Saturday, Oct. 23.  The clinic will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Connolly Center on the Seattle U campus, and is designed to provide information to coaches on offensive and defensive systems, as well as drills to help enhance individual programs. 

Joining Bonvicini will be Tom Newell, former professional coach and authority on player development, and Sherri Murrell, who has lead her team to the best record in school history as head women's basketball coach at Portland State.  In addition, Jenny Boucek, a former WNBA and college coach, Michael Meek, a six-time Oregon State High School Coach of the Year and current head women's coach at George Fox University, will share their expertise.  Rounding out the day's speakers is Cathy Crosslin, founder of Instar Performances, which is a program centered on cognitive skill training.

The clinic will cover all aspects of coaching basketball, including scramble defense, individual skill development drills, practice planning and a range of set plays.  In addition to on the court training, Crosslin will speak to all in attendance about the fundamentals of team building and enhancing ones performance, among other topics.
