Last Time Out: The Redhawks opened up 2010 at home with a pair of losses. In their season opening contest versus crosstown foe the University of Washington, the Redhawks were edged 1-0 on Aug. 20. Two days later, Seattle U could not bounce back and fell 3-0 to Oregon State. After giving up a late first half goal, the Redhawks were offensively dominate in the second half; however late long balls from the OSU backline allowed the Beavers to score a pair of goals in the final five minutes of regulation.
Hittin' the Road!: Seattle U will head to the Golden State for a pair of matches in search of their first victory of the season. They will take on UC Riverside on Friday, Aug. 27, at 7 p.m. to open up the weekend. On Sunday, Aug. 29, SU will square off with UC Irvine in a 1 p.m. match, before returning back to the Emerald City.
What Woodward Says: "We are looking forward to get back on the field this weekend in Southern California. We have made improvements since playing two Pac-10 teams to open up the season. We are excited to get back into the swing of things and get back into action."

Newcomers Making Solid Contributions: Eight newcomers, including a redshirt and a transfer, played significant minutes for the Redhawks during their opening weekend. Five freshmen earned starts over the weekend, as well.
Nance Hill Named Featured Student-Athlete of the Week: Veteran defender Nance Hill was named the first GoSeattleU.com Featured Student-Athlete of the Week of the 2010-11 academic year. After a standout preseason and solid play versus UW and OSU, she was recognized for both her play on the field and solid performance in the classroom.
Scouting UC Riverside: The Highlanders of UC Riverside remain at home after falling 1-0 in their season opener to UNLV on Aug. 20. In the game, goalkeeper Jessica White tallied 11 saves. The UCR offense posted nine shots to UNLV's 15, with seven on target.
The Highlander's offense was led by Deborah Musa, who had five shots, including three on goal, to lead the team.
The Last Time Seattle U Faced UC Riverside: The two squads last faced each other on Nov. 2, 2008 in Riverside, Calif. After a Jamie Coe header early in the second half to even the score, the Highlanders went on to score the go-ahead goal and earn a 2-1 victory at home over the Redhawks.
Scouting UC Irvine: The Redhawks will square off with UC Irvine (1-0-1) following their 2-2 double-overtime draw at then-No. 14 California on Aug. 22. Lexi Kopf and Courtney Goodson each had equalizing goals in each half, to tie the ranked Golden Bears. In their opening game on Aug. 20, UCI defeated Idaho 2-1.
On the offensive end, four different players have scored and four different players have earned assists on the year. Between the pipes, 'keeper Danielle de Seriere posts a 1.35 goals against average and 12 saves. She was named Big West Defensive Player of the Week.
The Last Time Seattle U Faced UC Irvine: This is the first time the Redhawks will take on the Anteaters since reclassifying back into NCAA Division I status.
