"We are very pleased with our showing on the All-Mountain Division team!," said head coach Dan Powers. "All of our players worked hard this year and deserve recognition for their efforts. I am very proud of them."
"Our senior class was well represented and they will be very hard to replace next season, but having three underclassmen on the list shows we are heading in the right direction and will be in the hunt again next year," concluded Powers.
Ulrich was recognized as a pitcher and utility player, as she spent time at first base and as the team's designated player, in addition to her 18 appearances on the mound. In the circle she tallied four wins, all of which were consecutive, and eight complete games. In 78.2 innings pitched, she threw 39 strikeouts, for second-best on the team. At the plate, she was in the top three of Redhawk hitters with a .274 batting average. She tallied 29 hits, 30 RBIs, to lead the team, 27 runs, five home runs, four doubles and a pair of triples. She posted a team-leading .491 slugging percentage and .462 on base percentage.
Wilde was selected to the first time for her solid play at third base. She posted a .914 fielding percentage, while tallying 29 hits, 16 RBIs, 12 runs, six doubles and a triple. The Redhawk rookie was in the top-five of SU batters, and had .430 slugging percentage and a .338 on base percentage.
Four Seattle U players were named to the All-Mountain Division Second Team to tally the most representatives on the team. A trio of seniors: Katie Antich (Spokane, Wash.), Sandra Hernandez (Redlands, Calif.) and Megan MacIsaac (Santa Barbara, Calif.), capped off their Redhawk careers earning their first Division I conference honors. Outfielder Antich, who led the offensive all season, had a .356 batting average. She tallied 57 hits, 35 runs, seven RBIs, seven doubles and four triples.
Home run leader Hernandez was named to the second team at second base. She led the team with seven homers on the year, along with posting 29 hits, 29 RBIs, 19 runs and four doubles. Fellow infielder MacIsaac was recognized for her play at shortstop. In 49 consecutive starts, she tallied a .946 fielding percentage. She was the second-best hitter on the team with a .290 batting average. MacIsaac posted 40 hits, 28 runs, 22 RBIs, five doubles, three home runs and a pair of triples on the year.
Rounding out the second team selections was sophomore pitcher Hannah Klein (Camarillo, Calif.). Klein led the three-player rotation with a 3.77 ERA to land in the top-10 in the PCSC. She posted four wins, a shutout and a save, behind 107.2 innings pitched. In 27 appearances, she started 18 and pitched five complete games. She threw 35 strikeouts on the year.
The final honoree by the division this year was senior Katie Petersen (Mission Viejo, Calif.), who was named to the honorable mention team. After battling back from injury early in the season, the outfielder was a top hitter for the Redhawks. She saw action in 38 games, while starting 35. She posted 29 hits, 22 runs, three RBIs and a double on the year. Petersen had a .976 fielding percentage, playing primarily in right field this season.
Seattle U concluded their first season of competition as members of the PCSC Mountain Division with a third place finish, but were in contention for the inaugural divisional title heading into the final series of the season.
