In the number three singles match, Alex Montgomery (Seattle, Wash.) recovered from losing the first set to post a three-set victory over Benjamin Robert (3-6, 6-4, 6-4). The other SeattleU point came from the number six singles position, as Yusuke Kanehira (Tokyo, Japan) won the first set, lost the second, but rallied to win the match in a super-tiebreaker over Arslan Mermut (6-2, 3-6, 10-8).
After winning the doubles point with three 8-5 victories, Lewis-Clark State took control of the match with straight-set victories in number one, number two, and number five singles. In the number four singles slot, Patrick Boorkman (Bellevue, Wash.) won the first set, but Oliver Sindayigaya came from behind to win the match in three sets (4-6, 6-3, 6-2).
Seattle University (5-11) continues its weekend trip Saturday, April 10, facing the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho, beginning at 3 p.m. The Redhawks will then head back into Washington for matches at Gonzaga and Eastern Washington this Sunday, April 11.
