The Seattle University men's tennis team was swept in a morning match by the University of Portland, 7-0, before returning to action in the evening and playing a more competitive match against Weber State before losing, 7-0, Saturday.

Although Weber State earned the doubles point, it was not without a battle, as the team of Patrick Boorkman (Bellevue, Wash.) and Adam Strizich (Helena, Mont.) defeated Spencer Marchant and Cole Paterson in the number three doubles slot, 8-6. Earlier in the day Boorkman and Strizich had played a tight doubles set against Portland's Geoff Hernandez and Nick Wales before falling, 8-6.

In singles against Weber State, both Andrew Tran (Portland, Ore.) and Yusuke Kanehira (Setagaya, Japan) overcame first set losses to win the second set in their respective matches and force a third set super tiebreaker. Tran pushed Marchant to the limit before the Wildcat pulled out the deciding tiebreaker, 13-11, while Kanehira lost to Paterson, 10-2.

Seattle University (3-8) heads to Colorado Springs, Colo., next weekend to face the Air Force Academy, Colorado Christian, and St. Peters.
