Seattle University softball player Katie Antich capped off a tremendous week of action by earning Pacific Coast Softball Conference (PCSC) Player of the Week honors for the Mountain Division. She is the first Redhawk player to ever receive a PCSC weekly honor. This week the veteran outfielder was also named to the Husky Softball Classic All-Tournament Team and named GoSeattleU.com's Featured Student-Athlete of the Week.

"This a great reward for our program and Katie!" said head coach Dan Powers. "She will always be remembered as our first PCSC POW winner. We hope this will be the first of many more to come in our new conference."

The senior diagnostic ultrasound major, led the SeattleU offense hitting .421 in five games played. During that span, she tallied eight hits, three runs, two doubles, an RBI and a triple.

She kicked off the week with the University of Miami (Ohio) on Mar. 10, in SU's home opener. Antich tallied three hits versus UM, and had a hit versus Miami in a rematch on Mar. 13, in the team's opening game of the Husky Softball Classic.

In two games versus No. 1 Washington, on Mar. 13 and 14, she had two hits, a run and a double. In the Redhawks lone tournament victory, Anitch had two hits, two runs, an RBI, a double and a triple to guide SU to a 6-4 victory over conference favorite Portland State on Mar. 14.

The Redhawks (2-17) currently are competing in their first season in the PCSC and at the NCAA Division I level. Antich and SeattleU resume action on Thursday, Mar. 25, at the University of Oregon. SU will take on the Ducks in a doubleheader in Eugene, Ore. beginning at 3 p.m.
