The Seattle University women's golf team earned an 11th place finish in the two-day, three-round Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, hosted by the University of Hawai'i at the Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course.

For the second straight tournament, Caitlin McCleary (The Dalles, Ore.) led the way for Seattle University, shooting rounds of 78, 80, and 80 for a cumulative score of 238 (+22), good enough for a tie for 42nd place. Shannon Quinn (Shoreline, Wash.) and Christine Cook (Yakima, Wash.) finished in a tie for 51st place with a three-round score of 240 (+24), with Quinn combining rounds of 81, 79, and 80 and Cook posting scores of 81, 81, and 78.

Leading the team with six birdies during the tournament, Lana Cox (San Clemente, Calif.) earned a tie for 74th place after rounds of 86, 79, and 84 led to a two-day total of 249 (+33). Lori Pearson (Seattle, Wash.) finished in a tie for 77th place with a cumulative score of 252 (+36) after turning in scores of 90, 80, and 82 over the three rounds.

As a team, Seattle University posted scores of 326, 318, and 320 for a three-round total of 964 (+100), ahead of Division I schools Northern Colorado, Weber State, Jackson State, and North Dakota. Rollins College shot a final-round 298 to pull out a one-stroke victory over Nova Southeastern, with the University of San Francisco finishing just two strokes behind. Louisa Lies of Fresno State shot a 66 in the first round on her way to a five-stroke victory in the individual competition with an even-par 216. 

The Seattle University men's and women's golf teams will compete at the same site for the final two tournaments of the season, beginning next Monday and Tuesday, March 22 and 23, in the Cal State Bakersfield Invitational II at the Bakersfield Country Club.
