Ian Dahl (Longview, Wash.) shot a final-round 70, the lowest round by any SeattleU golfer over the two days, to finish in a tie for 20th place with a three-round total of 226 (+10). Chris Holway (Longview, Wash.) got off to a good start with rounds of 72 and 74 on Monday, finishing in a tie for 24th place after a third-round score of 81 led to a cumulative score of 227 (+11).
Alec Pakzad (Bellevue, Wash.) also started off the tournament well with rounds of 77 and 73 on Monday, but a Tuesday round of 84 put him in a tie for 49th place with a three-round score of 234 (+18). After rounds of 81 and 82 on Monday, Rob Seibly (Spokane, Wash.) closed out the tournament by posting a score of 72 to finish in a tie for 52nd place with a cumulative score of 235 (+19). Kevin Ormiston (Snoqualmie, Wash.) also improved on Tuesday, combining a third-round score of 78 with Monday rounds of 86 and 80 to finish at 244 (+28) for a 69th-place finish.
As a team, Seattle University posted scores of 305 (+17), 308 (+20), and 301 (+13) for a three-day total of 914 (+50), 43 strokes behind tournament champion Washington State. The Redhawks finished one stroke ahead of Villanova and also posted a better score than Gonzaga, Utah Valley, and Bradley. Brett Iliff of UMKC won the individual title with a three-day total of 211 (-5).
The Seattle University men are scheduled to have a month off before resuming competition at the Cal State Bakersfield Invitational II March 22-23 at the Bakersfield Country Club.
