The Seattle University baseball team will show off the results of their weight training Friday, Jan. 29, in the program's first annual Flex-Off at the Connolly Center starting at 7 p.m., with ticket proceeds to benefit the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation.
The members of the baseball team will compete against one another for the applause of the crowd as interpreted by a panel of three judges. Everyone is invited to come to the event, make a small donation of two dollars ($2), and vote for the baseball player with the best body presentation.
The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation helps place athletic teams with young people who are dealing specifically with brain tumors. Through this program, the Seattle University baseball team has adopted Adrian Smith, a three-year-old who has been diagnosed with an inoperable right thalamic tumor.
For tickets to the Flex-Off or to make a donation to the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, please call Fletcher Vynne at (360) 317-6615 or send an email to vynnej@seattleu.edu.
The Seattle University baseball team is preparing for its first competitive season in about 25 years, which will begin with a two-game series at Washington State Feb. 20-21. The home opener for the Redhawk baseball program is Tuesday, Feb. 23, against Saint Martin's at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue starting at 4 p.m.
