The Seattle University baseball program, led by head coach Donny Harrel, welcomed 25 youngsters 14 years old and younger to the Connolly Center AstroGym on Sunday, Dec. 20, for the second annual "Inner City of Seattle" Charity Baseball Camp.
The youngsters were treated to games and clinics in which they learned about the fundamentals of baseball, including hitting, throwing, and pitching. Seattle University coaches and players were on hand, taking time from their Christmas break, to give these children a chance to have a good time.
This continues the athletic department's commitment to fulfilling the University mission of preparing leaders for a just and humane world through community service. Seattle University student-athletes, coaches, and athletic staff members have worked with organizations such as the Rotary Boys and Girls Club, the United Way, the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, Colleges Against Cancer, and several local schools.
