The Seattle University baseball team has tried four times to start its intrasquad series that serves as the culmination of the fall practice season, but continuous rain has forced the indefinite postponement of the series.

The Media Day game featuring honorary managers Larry Stone of The Seattle Times and Steve Sandmeyer of KJR Radio and the parent potluck, both scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, have been cancelled. The status of the intrasquad series depends on NCAA rules regarding allowable practice days during the fall.

The Seattle University baseball team is preparing for its first season of competition since the mid-1980s. The 2010 spring season is slated to begin Saturday, Feb. 20, at Washington State, with the first home game scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 25, against Saint Martin's at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue. The full 2010 baseball schedule is expected to be announced soon.
