BACK ON THE ROAD: The Seattle University volleyball team left Thursday morning for a weekend trip to Idaho and Utah. Friday afternoon, the team faces Idaho State, followed by a contest at Weber State Saturday evening. SeattleU took a similar trip last season, coming back from a 2-0 deficit to force a fifth set at Idaho State before the Bengals won the match and losing to Weber State in four sets. This is the continuation of a seven-match road swing that has already taken the team to Nevada with trips to Montana and California still to come.
SCOUTING IDAHO STATE: The Bengals enter Friday's match with an 8-10 overall record after losing to Weber State in four sets Wednesday. Emily Waldron leads the team with 207 kills, plus she has 15 service aces and 187 digs. Jaclyn Hone has contributed 184 kills, 14 service aces, and 172 digs, while Haylee Thompson has earned 170 kills as well as 35 total blocks. Karissa Legaux comes into the match with 689 assists. Defensively, Sarah Carson leads at the net with 47 total blocks, and Paige Palmer leads in the back with 270 defensive digs.
SCOUTING WEBER STATE: The Wildcats come into Saturday's match with a 4-15 overall record, with victories over Gonzaga, Portland State, Montana State, and Idaho State this season. Chelsea Bair leads the team with 237 kills, 24 service aces, and 180 digs. Jenna Leggat has compiled 154 kills, 14 aces, and 39 total blocks. Besides 120 kills, Amy Fackrell leads the team with 66 total blocks. Caitlyn Anderson has contributed 142 kills and 168 digs. The setting duties have been split, with Jocilyn Taylor leading the way with 300 assists and Kim Lissinna close behind with 249 assists.
