Quinn started the tournament by shooting 74 (+1) on Monday and followed up with a second-round 76 (+3) to finish in a tie for second at 150 (+4). She finished the two rounds tied for second in pars with 23, tied for fourth in birdies with five, tied for second in scoring on par-four holes (+5), tied for fourth in par-three scoring (even), and tied for sixth in scoring on par-five holes (-1).
After shooting 81 (+8) in the opening round, Caitlin McCleary (The Dalles, Ore.) posted a score of 78 (+5) in the second round for a two-day total of 159 (+13), good enough to finish in a tie for 12th place. Like Quinn, McCleary shot one-under-par on the par-five holes and also landed in the top ten for pars, making 21 pars to place in a tie for eighth in that category among the 50 competitors.
Lana Cox (San Clemente, Calif.) also made a significant improvement from the first round to the second round, shooting 87 (+14) on Monday and following that with a 77 (+4) on Tuesday for a cumulative score of 164 (+18) to finish in a tie for 29th place. Christine Cook (Yakima, Wash.) posted scores of 88 (+15) and 80 (+7) for a two-day total of 168 (+22) to finish in a tie for 37th place, while Lori Pearson (Seattle, Wash.) finished in a tie for 39th place after shooting rounds of 84 (+11) and 85 (+12) for a two-round total of 169 (+23).
Coming into Tuesday's round in fifth place after an opening-day 326, Seattle University posted a team score of 311 in the second round to move up to fourth place with a two-day total of 637. Western Washington won the team title for the seventh time in the past eight years, and Cicilia Chudivan of Cal State Monterey Bay won the individual title after a second-round 71 gave her a two-day total of 147 (+1).
The Seattle University women's golf team will compete for the final time in the fall next Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 19-20, at the UVic Shootout, hosted by the University of Victoria at Cordova Bay Golf Club in Victoria, B.C.
