Seattle University men's swimmer Chris Fulton was named Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 12. The SeattleU junior earns the honor after posting a strong performance at the PCSC Relay Meet on Friday, Oct. 9.

Fulton helped lead the Redhawks to three second-place finishes on the day in the 200 yard freestyle relay, 400 yard freestyle relay and the 400 medley relay. In the 200 yard freestyle relay, Fulton and his fellow relay teammates beat the third-place team from Grand Canyon University by just 9/100ths of a second.

The Snohomish, Wash. native also swam in the 800 yard freestyle relay.

"Chris transferred from a strong Division I program to Seattle University to contribute more in the classroom and athletically," said head coach Craig Mallery. "His work ethic, positive leadership, influence and sprint capacities continue to combine for stronger and stronger competitive team outcomes."

Fulton, who previously attended UC Santa Barbara, is a finance major at SeattleU. He holds a 3.122 cumulative grade point average.

The SU swim team returns to the pool on Friday, Oct. 30, to face off with the University of Pacific in Stockton, Calif. The following day the Redhawks will remain in Northern California as they travel to UC Davis to take on the Aggies at 11 a.m.
