This Week For The Redhawks: The Seattle University women's soccer team will close out the home-half of the 2009 schedule on Sunday, Oct. 11, versus Washington State. The match is slated for noon at Championship Field. Prior to the contest, SU will honor the careers of the graduating senior class. Jamie Coe, Kate Edstrom, Jamie Peterson and M'ily Reiter will all take the field for the final time at Championship Field versus WSU.

Last Time Out: The Redhawks return home after a rough weekend at the Aztec Classic. SU fell 2-1 to UNLV, after leading by a goal through most of the game. Freshman Carlee Norquist, who scored her first career goal, got the ball to the back of the net in the eighth minute. After leading by a goal, the Rebels responded with an equalizing goal in the 75th minute. With less than a minute remaining in the game, UNLV knocked in the game-winner to hand SU a 2-1 loss.

Two days later, SU was unable to bounce back from their late game loss to UNLV. They fell 2-0 to tournament host San Diego State.

On Deck: SeattleU will take to the road for their final four games of the 2009 season. They will first travel to Cal State Bakersfield on Friday, Oct. 16, for a 7 p.m. game. Two days later they will head to the coast to square off with UC Santa Barbara for a game at noon. They return to California to close out the season with Pepperdine (Oct. 29) and San Diego (Nov. 1).

Scouting Washington State: Washington State heads north after falling to then-No. 3 Portland, 2-1, on Oct. 4. The Cougars are currently 7-3, and all three of their losses have been on the road this season. Prior to playing the Redhawks, WSU will square off the University of Washington on Friday before heading to Championship Field.

Between the pipes Meghan Berlingo has taken the bulk of the goal tending duties. In nine games played, she posts a 0.60 goals against average, 21 saves, four shutouts and a 7-2 record. She has allowed five goals this season. Ariana Byrd and Stephanie Phillips have also seen minutes in goal for the Cougars, as well.

Norquist Scores First Career Goal: Freshman Carlee Norquist scored her first career goal on Friday, Oct. 2, versus UNLV at the Aztec Classic. Norquist has been the lone Redhawk newcomer to start and play in all 14 contests this season. She has played at left outside back and in the midfield at left wing this season. Currently, the Boise, Idaho native has scored a goal and helped lead SU to four shutouts on the season.

Riozzi's Back: After suffering an injury at the Oregon Nike Tournament, sophomore Kassandra Riozzi returned to the field at the Aztec Classic from Oct. 2 - 4. She came in off the bench versus UNLV on Oct. 2, and returned to the starting lineup on Oct. 4, against SDSU.

Final Home Game in 2009: The Redhawks game versus Washington State will be the final home game played at Championship Field for SU during the 2009 season.

Looking to Get Back into the Win Column: SeattleU has faced a tough skid in the schedule, as they have only been able to come away with a lone win and a double overtime tie time in their last nine games.

The Redhawks kicked off the season with back-to-back shutouts and winning four of their first five games.
