The Seattle University women's golf team finished in 12th place at the Washington State University Inland Cup Wednesday afternoon, with the three-day, three-round tournament taking place at the Palouse Ridge Golf Club.

Lana Cox (San Clemente, Calif.) was the top finisher for Seattle University, moving into a tie for 46th place after shooting rounds of 83, 79, and 83 for a cumulative total of 245 (+29). Shannon Quinn (Shoreline, Wash.) finished in a tie for 52nd place after posting rounds of 81, 85, and 81 for a three-day total of 247 (+31).

Caitlin McCleary (The Dalles, Ore.) earned the best SeattleU round of the tournament, shooting 76 in Tuesday's second round, on her way to a total score of 250 (+34) and a tie for 58th place. After a tough first round, Kelsey Johnson (Pasco, Wash.) recovered to shoot 79 and 86 on the final two days to post a three-round total of 257 (+41), good enough for 71st place. Lori Pearson (Seattle, Wash.) finished in a tie for 72nd place after compiling a total score of 261 (+45).

Playing as an individual, Christine Cook (Yakima, Wash.) improved her score each day, finishing the tournament with a third-round 79 to finish in a tie for 58th place at 250 (+34). Michelle Grome (Edmonds, Wash.) finished in 78th place after posting a three-day score of 271 (+55).

As a team, Seattle University finished ahead of Eastern Washington with a three-day total of 992 (+128), just one stroke behind 11th-place Weber State. Idaho won the team competition by 13 strokes over Nevada and Sacramento State, as the Vandals were paced by individual champion Kayla Mortellaro, who held on for a one-stroke victory over teammate Amanda Jacobs and Cara Freeman of Oregon State.

The Seattle University women's golf team will next compete at the Western Washington Invitational on Oct. 12 and 13 at the Bellingham Golf and Country Club in Bellingham, Wash.
