Last Time Out: Seattle kept their perfect record at home with a 3-1 win over Utah State on Sept. 20. After dropping four straight games, the Redhawks managed to snap their slump and get on the board for a season-high three-goal win. Junior Kara Kuttler, who scored her fifth goal of the season, kicked off the SU scoring attack in the 26th minute. In the second half, senior M'ily Reiter followed through on a deflected shot to score what would be the game-winner, as USU scored just after Seattle's second score. Rounding out the trio of Redhawk scorers was freshman Chelsea Jennings. Taylor Fannin crossed the ball to Jennings, who headed it in for her first career goal.
SU fell in their lone road match on the week at WCC opponent Gonzaga. Kuttler scored a first-half go ahead goal for Seattle, but two late goals by the Bulldogs prevented Seattle from earning the road victory.
On Deck: The Redhawks will travel to San Diego, Calif. to participate in the Aztec Classic hosted by San Diego State University. On Friday, Oct. 2, SU will take on UNLV at 1:30 p.m., and close out the weekend with tournament host SDSU at 2 p.m.
Coach Woodward's Take: "We played a lot better offensively versus Utah State on Sunday," said head coach Julie Woodward. "Hopefully we can continue to do the same, and put two back-to-back good games together this week versus Portland State and San Francisco."

Scouting Portland State: Portland State hosts SeattleU riding a two-game win streak. They defeated Wyoming on Sept. 18, 1-0, and North Dakota State 1-0 on Sept. 20. The Vikings post a 4-4 overall record and are 1-1 when playing at home. All four of their victories this season have been shutouts.
Leading the offense for PSU is Dolly Enneking. In eight starts she posts three goals, including a game-winner, and an assist for seven points. Amanda Dutra leads the team in assists with two, and she's tallied one goal for four points. In goal, Cris Lewis holds a 1.28 goals against average with 48 saves, four shutouts and a 4-4 record. She has allowed 10 goals this season.
Scouting San Francisco: The Dons of the University of San Francisco head to Seattle after posting four straight double overtime draws. USF (4-1-4) took UNLV to a 0-0 tie on Sept. 18, and drew 1-1 at Pacific on Sept. 20.
They are led by Kristina Hall, who has four goals, including a game-winner and a converted penalty kick. Behind Hall, Lauren Maris has a pair goals and assists each. Between the pipes Kelly Pohle has tallied a 0.43 goals against average, 25 saves, three shutouts and has allowed four goals.
Still Perfect at Home!: The Redhawks are undefeated at home in 2009. After defeating Utah State on Sept. 21, 3-1, they extended their home record to 4-0.
This season SU has also defeated Boise State (Aug. 21) and Idaho State (Aug. 23) by 1-0 margins in their opening weekend, and they shutout Eastern Washington 2-0 on Aug. 31.
Kuttler Continues to Lead Offense: Junior Kara Kuttler is having a breakout season in 2009. She leads SeattleU with five goals, including a game-winner, and two assists for 12 points. She has scored in their last two games, beginning with the Redhawks lone goal at Gonzaga on Sept. 17. She followed up with a goal on Sept. 20, versus Utah State in SU's 3-1 victory.
In addition to being SeattleU's top scorer, she has been the biggest offensive threat. She has fired off 31 shots and has 20 on goal.
Four WCC Teams on 2009 Schedule: After playing Gonzaga on Sept. 17, SeattleU will host San Francisco on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 1 p.m. and travel to Pepperdine on Thursday, Oct. 29, and close out 2009 at San Diego on Sunday, Nov. 1.
Reiter Scores Game-Winner: Senior M'ily Reiter scored the game-winning goal for the Redhawks on Sept. 20, versus Utah State. It was the Billings, Mont. native's first goal of the season.
Jennings Gets on the Board: Freshman Chelsea Jennings scored her first career goal on Sept. 20, versus Utah State. She received a cross from sophomore Taylor Fannin and headed it into the back of the net at the 72:26 minute mark. Her goal solidified SU's 3-1 defeat over USU.
Goverde Reaches 50 Saves on the Season: Sophomore goalkeeper reached her 50th save on the season versus Utah State on Sept. 20. This season she has a 0.90 goals against average, four shutouts and has allowed only nine goals this season. In 10 straight starts, she is 5-5 on the season.
