The Seattle University women's golf stayed in the thick of competition Tuesday, combining to shoot 315 and finish in tenth place at the Bulldog and Eagle Invitational, co-hosted by Gonzaga and Eastern Washington at the Hangman Valley Golf Club.

As a team, SeattleU finished just one stroke behind Montana State and two strokes in back of McNeese State. The Redhawks placed ahead of Big Sky schools Eastern Washington and Idaho State as well as Great West member Utah Valley.

Individually, Shannon Quinn (Shoreline, Wash.) led the way for Seattle University, shooting a final-round 79 for a three-round score of 232 (+16) to finish in a tie for 23rd place. Quinn tied for tenth among all players with 35 pars over the two days. Lana Cox (San Clemente, Calif.) shot 78 in the third round to move into a tie for 29th place at 235 (+19). Cox performed well on the par three holes, finishing in a tie for sixth after shooting two-over-par on the short holes.

Caitlin McCleary (The Dalles, Ore.) also shot a final-round 78 for a cumulative total of 243 (+27), good enough for a tie for 47th place. Kelsey Johnson (Pasco, Wash.) ended her tournament with a third straight 82 for a final score of 246 (+30) to tie for 56th place, and Lori Pearson (Seattle, Wash.) shot her best round of the tournament with an 80 to finish in a tie for 61st place with a final score of 249 (+33).

Northern Arizona won the tournament by six strokes over Montana after combining to shoot 296 in the final round. Victoria Fallgren of Gonzaga set a school record with a 67 in the final round to earn the individual victory by four strokes over teammate Sage Suffecool and Carissa Simmons of Montana.

Seattle University heads back to the eastern part of Washington next week, taking part in the Inland Cup, hosted by Washington State University at the Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman, Wash.
