The Seattle University women's soccer team announced the addition of Gonzaga University to the 2009 schedule. SU will take on the Bulldogs on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 3 p.m. in Spokane, Wash. With the addition of Gonzaga to this year's campaign, SeattleU will square off with four West Coast Conference (WCC) teams this season.

"We are excited to add Gonzaga to this year's schedule," said head coach Julie Woodward. "It is great for our program and development to play another team of that caliber."

Three of the four WCC games on the 2009 schedule will be played on the road. Ten days after traveling to Spokane, the University of San Francisco will travel to Championship Field. The match is slated for 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27.

Fast forwarding to the end of the season, SeattleU will close out the year in Southern California with Pepperdine and No. 12 San Diego. On Thursday, Oct. 29, SU will square off with the Waves of Pepperdine at 3 p.m. in Malibu. The Redhawks will conclude the season in San Diego with a 1 p.m. game on Sunday, Nov. 1.

Currently, Seattle holds a 4-1 overall record and the Redhawks are coming off back-to-back 2-0 shutouts. They are lead by junior Kara Kuttler, who has two goals and two assists on the season, for six points. She is followed by senior Jamie Coe, who has three game-winning assists on the season and a lone goal. Between the pipes, sophomore goalkeeper Madison Goverde posts four shutouts, 15 saves and a 0.40 goals against average.
