The Seattle University baseball program hosted the "Spring Swing" nine-hole golf tournament on Friday, April 24, at Glen Acres Country Club, attracting many alumni and supporters to both the golf outing and the evening social.

The event, used to raise money for the baseball program's recruiting efforts, featured 70 golfers and over 80 people attending the awards dinner afterwards. The team of Mike Gibson, Pat Gillis, Barry Saylor, and Walt Cougan, all alumni of Seattle University, won the golf competition.

The next event sponsored by the baseball program will be a roast of Seattle University Athletic Hall of Famer Eddie O'Brien on Friday, May 22, at Kells Irish Restaurant and Pub from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Eddie's brother Johnny O'Brien will be the Master of Ceremonies, and the cost of attendance is $50, which includes food and two beverages per person. Seating for the special night is limited, so for more information contact Kelly Lynch at (206) 296-6400.

The Seattle University baseball program will resume competition in spring 2010 after a 25-year hiatus and will join the rest of the athletic department in the reclassification process towards NCAA Division I status.
