The offense of the softball team woke up early Sunday morning, scoring in every inning to give SeattleU a 14-1 victory over on the final day of the Husky Softball Classic at the Husky Softball Stadium.

Katie Antich (, ) and Katie Petersen () started off the game with back-to-back singles. After a Lisa Hill (, ) walk, Sandra Hernandez () hit a grand slam to left field to put SeattleU on the board, 4-0.

Antich and Petersen again started the offense in the second inning, with Antich earning a bunt single and Petersen doubling to right field, with Antich scoring on a Bronco fielding error. For the third straight day, Jamie Foote () hit a home run to right field, increasing SeattleU’s lead to 7-0.

In the third inning, loaded the bases with two walks and a single. Megan MacIsaac (, ) scored on a wild pitch, and Hernandez scored on a single by Jessica Amador (). A single by Antich reloaded the bases, and Petersen drew a walk to force in Hannah Klein (). Hill drove in Amador and Antich with a single to extend the Redhawks’ advantage to 12-0.

SeattleU scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings, while ’s offense came alive in the last two innings, loading the bases in both the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings and scoring a run in the fourth to break the shutout. Klein earned her third victory of the season, scattering nine hits during the five innings of action. Allie Crump took the loss after allowing eight runs in the first two innings, with Mandy Klein coming on in relief and giving up six runs in three innings.

Hernandez finished the day 3-for-4 with two runs scored, five runs batted in, and three putouts and three assists defensively. Antich and Petersen combined to go 5-for-5 with five runs scored and a run batted in. Lexi Straton went 3-for-3 for (5-7), and Ashleigh Viers-Gordillo earned two hits during the morning.

(3-6) heads back to for Loyola Marymount’s second in-season tournament, featuring and Saint Mary’s College along with the host Lions and SeattleU. The Redhawks’ home opener is Monday, March 9, against the in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
