Peppering the Central Washington net with shots throughout the entire match, junior forward Jamie Coe () finally connected with less than nine minutes remaining in regulation to give the Seattle University women’s soccer team a 1-0 victory Wednesday afternoon at the Starfire Soccer Complex.

The offense drew a foul on the Wildcats just outside the box and set up a play for the free kick. From the left side of the field, Kara Kuttler (, ) sent the ball towards the right side of the box, where Pfeiffer Bloecker () redirected it towards the middle of the box. Coe sent a header past Wildcat goalie Amber Easterbrook for her team-leading tenth goal of the season.

outshot , 23-11, including a 13-4 advantage in shots on goal. In the first 11 minutes of the match, Easterbrook was forced to make five saves, and Kuttler had a shot blocked. With 14 minutes remaining in the first half, Kassandra Riozzi (, ) sent a corner kick into the box that found the feet of M'ily Reiter (), but Reiter could not get the ball past Easterbrook.

The offensive pressure by the Redhawks continued in the second half, as Kuttler had two chances in the first ten minutes and Coe earned an attempt that hit the post 12 minutes into the second half. Midway through the second half, Coe had back-to-back shots that Easterbrook turned away, followed by shots from Kuttler and Taylor Fannin () that were stopped by the Wildcat goalie.

Central Washington (9-7-3) had a solid chance thanks to a mistake by the defense that led to an indirect free kick for the Wildcats. With 3:20 remaining in regulation, Michelle Mohn attempted a shot off the indirect free kick, but Jordan Salisbury ( Way, ) came out of the wall and blocked the shot to keep off the board.

Madison Goverde () made four saves in picking up her sixth shutout of the season, while Easterbrook, who came into the match with a .832 save percentage, finished with 12 saves during the afternoon. Coe led all players with seven shots, including five shots on goal, while four of Kuttler’s six shots were on net.

(11-5-3) concludes the 2008 season by hosting ’s at Championship Field Sunday, Nov. 9, beginning at 1 p.m. Before the match, six players (Maryann Boddy, Madison Collins, Megan Fogarty, Kahlyn Keilty-Lucas, Maria Madeira, and Megan Price) will be honored in Senior Day ceremonies.
