The athletic department has entered into an agreement with Sandusky Radio to have 17 men’s basketball games broadcast on KKNW 1150 AM, beginning with ’s two games in the Elgin Baylor Classic this weekend.

KKNW will broadcast 16 games live and one on tape delay, starting this Saturday, Nov. 15, with the regular season opener against at 4 p.m. The complete broadcast schedule, listed below, includes games at , , State, , and Eastern Washington, as well as all three SU games at the Great Alaska Shootout and the January 1 game against Loyola Marymount at KeyArena at the .

Dick Fain and Gary Hill, Jr., will split the play-by-play broadcasting duties during the season. Fain is in his 11th year of broadcasting and last season was the play-by-play voice for the WNBA’s Seattle Storm. Hill is the host of “Sports Tangle” every Monday from 8-9 p.m. on KKNW and has worked on broadcasts for numerous area basketball teams, both collegiate and professional, during his career. Justin Kesterson, the voice of the women’s basketball team on the Internet, will fill in for Saturday’s game against . 

Starting next Monday, Nov. 17, there will be a one-hour talk show on KKNW featuring sports. The show, to air every Monday from 9-10 p.m., will feature a rotation of coaches, student-athletes, and athletic staff and administrators to talk about previous and upcoming events. Hill is slated to be the host of the one-hour show.

All home games and selected road games for the women’s basketball team will be broadcast on the Internet through ’s athletics website, GoSeattleU.com. Kesterson and Chris McCullough will bring all of the action from courtside to fans listening in through the SU athletics website. Their first broadcast is slated to be the game between and the Friday, Nov. 28, beginning at 2 p.m. at Bank of America Arena.

is in Year One of the reclassification process towards becoming a Division I member of the NCAA. Both the men’s and women’s basketball programs have posted three straight winning seasons and will play a majority of games against Division I opponents this season.
