The women’s golf team continued its season as it completed the first round of the ’s Women’s Invitational Golf Tournament Thursday at the Tumwater Valley Golf Club.
Dianne Alcantara (, ) was the top finisher for , shooting an 83 to place in a tie for 13th place after the first round. Kelsey Johnson (, ) shot an 85 and is presently tied for 18th place, with Caitlin McCleary () shooting an 86 in her first career collegiate round and Michelle Grome (Edmonds, Wash.) posting a season-best score of 89.
As a team, combined to post a score of 343 and is in fifth place, 15 strokes behind fourth-place . With four golfers in the top ten, Western Washington is in the lead after the first round with 312, three strokes ahead of (315). Host school ’s finished with a score of 326 to take third position.
will conclude play in the ’s Invitational on Friday.
