The men’s soccer team took twice as many shots as the Concordia University Eagles, but neither team was able to send the ball into the net, as the two squads played to a 0-0 tie Friday afternoon at Eagle Field.

The visitors took control in the second half, outshooting the home team 10-3. Back-to-back shots by Sean Morris (, ) and Luis Gamez () in the first three minutes after halftime were both stopped by Eagle goalie James Rammelsberg. After Emerson DeOliveira () made a save on a Concordia shot, Rammelsberg again stoned the Redhawks, this time off another shot from Gamez seven minutes into the half.

Gamez threatened to end the match in regulation twice, but his header shot in the 86th minute sailed high and another shot with less than two minutes remaining in the second half was stopped by Rammelsberg. Both teams continued to attack the net in the overtime periods, but their shots were off the mark. The best chance came for Concordia (3-3-1) with a minute remaining in the second overtime, when Mickey Mendoza sent a shot on net, but DeOliveira made the save to preserve the tie.

DeOliveira finished with three saves in picking up his second shutout of the season, while Rammelsberg earned his shutout with six saves in the match.
