Seattle University Women?s Golf Program Begins Again At Washington State Tourney

Three golfers represent Seattle University for first time since golf program was brought back last year.

Three golfers made history Monday morning as they teed off and completed two rounds at the Northwest Dodge Dealers Inland Cup, hosted by at the new Palouse Ridge Golf Club, the first golfers to represent the school since the reestablishment of the golf program last year.

After 36 holes, Kelsey Johnson was the leading golfer for , shooting rounds of 85 and 83 to finish the day in 51st place. Michelle Grome posted scores of 95 and 90 and is currently in 59th place, and Taylor Conway is in 60th place after posting consecutive rounds of 102 during the day.

The Seattle University golfers are competing with golfers from Division I schools Nevada, Washington State, Weber State, Gonzaga, Sacramento State, Montana, Portland, Portland State, Boise State, and Idaho. They are competing on a brand new course that just opened and is located on the campus.

The golfers will return to the course Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. to finish the tournament with one 18-hole round. is presently in Year One of the reclassification process towards becoming a Division I member of the NCAA.
