Seattle University head baseball coach Donny Harrel has organized a baseball camp for high school players ages 16-18 during the first weekend of October that will give players an opportunity to learn and develop their talents in a camp setting.

The three-day camp, which runs from Friday, Oct. 3 through Sunday, Oct. 5, will be mostly held at the Steve Cox Memorial Stadium at White Center Park on 1321 SW 102nd Street in Seattle. On Friday evening, campers will be treated to a tour of the Seattle University campus, which will include information about the college both academically and athletically. Saturday's session will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the conclusion of the camp taking place Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The cost for the camp will be $149 for pitchers and $199 for position players and two-way players. The cost will include lunch on Saturday, during which time Seattle University coaches will talk about the recruiting process. Players will be responsible for bringing their own lunch on Sunday. Ice will be available for pitchers after they have thrown. T-shirts will be provided to all campers. ALL players should be in baseball attire and also need to bring bats, gloves, spikes, and hats.

Saturday morning, position and two-way players will go through an instructional period, plus the staff will also cover hitting, baserunning, and pitching. Controlled games take place in the afternoon. Sunday morning's instructional period will include defense by position and pitching, with games again following the morning instruction period. No pitcher will throw more than three innings or 50 pitches, with some throwing less if instructed to the camp staff by the high school coach.

Those interested in signing up for the camp should click on the "Camps" section at the top of this page and select "SU baseball". Payment for the camp can take place on the website, but those planning to pay on the site still need to download the questionnaire, fill it out, and e-mail it to camandd@aol.com to hold a spot. Any further questions on the camp can be answered by calling Cam Harrel at 425-273-4550.
