head women’s basketball coach Dan Kriley has released the 2008-09 schedule that the team will face, including nine games on the road against Division I schools and several contests against schools in the same reclassification process as .

The regular season begins Friday, Nov. 14, against , the first of four straight games away from home. will visit on Nov. 23 before participating in the Husky Classic at Bank of America Arena, facing the host Washington Huskies on Nov. 28 at 2 p.m. and then either of the Mid-American Conference or ACC member Clemson on Nov. 30.

The Redhawks host Seattle Pacific in the home opener at the on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m., before spending the next weekend in , facing on Dec. 5 and the University of Portland on Dec. 7. After a home game against Montana Tech on Dec. 9 and final exams, travels to face St. Mary’s College on Dec. 18 and Pacific on Dec. 20.

After Christmas, hosts on Dec. 28 and then goes on the road for a while, traveling to face UC Davis (Dec. 30), Cal State Bakersfield (Jan. 9), and Houston Baptist (Jan. 11) before playing two games in Puerto Rico during the week of Jan. 12. and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, both in Year One of reclassification, play a home-and-home series, with the game at the taking place on Jan. 24 followed by the rematch in Illinois on Jan. 31.

then starts a five-game homestand with on Feb. 7, followed by Houston Baptist on Feb. 9, on Feb. 14, Academy of Art University of San Francisco on Feb. 19, and Cal State Bakersfield on Feb. 21. The season ends with two trips to the Dakotas, first to play and on back-to-back nights (Feb. 27-28), and then back to , for a tournament featuring several of the reclassifying schools on March 7-8.

“As a program we are thrilled to be facing such a challenging schedule this year. Our returners have been working extremely hard to improve and they are determined to immediately compete at the Division I level. We have a great balance of experienced transfers and highly competitive freshmen entering our program this fall. In 18 years as a basketball coach, I have never been this excited to start the season,” Kriley said.

The women’s basketball team is coming off a 16-11 season, including a perfect 9-0 record in non-conference games. It was the third consecutive winning season for the program, the first time that has happened in 14 years.
